I have been busy beating ahhhhh teaching my employees customer service. So I have not been on the sight in a few days.

James

Change the profession? What is the distance it takes to turn a oil tanker? 5 miles. Change will not happen overnight. This is going to take 4-10 years. ARE YOU COMMITTED?

Folks,

Optometry has been very good to me. So, I do NOT want our profession to go the way of Pharmacy.

We've built these fantastic solo, or group, eye health care practices....

How do we pass them on to our next generation ODs.........?

OK, what
DO we (BANZAI ODs) have to offer these young ODs? I'm too old to understand what motivates Gen-Y.

Many may not want to see what we actually do & what we DID. Did it cost too much in time away from family to do create what we all now do?

Assuming it's not your own kid...............WHAT DO YOU OFFER?

I'm one of those 54 year olds.

I want to see what folks are offering & "how" is it working out.

Practice "EXIT STRATEGY" is apropos.

Terry

Hello,

I would like to touch on something that was brought up a few years ago, the subject of "minimum" participation in Banzai chats, mentorship for optometric students and / or attendance at meetings as a "requirement" for continued membership in our group. If a doctor has not participated in anything, my guess is that they really don't care about the group, in the past or in the present. Why have a large roster of doctors with 25+ % of it's members clueless to what we are trying to achieve? My vote is for some sort of commitment to continue being on the roster.

Does the membership feel that any level of participation should be required or is one included for life?

Respectfully...

Tommy Lim

I just, a few minutes ago, helped our newest extern from SCO lug a mattress and boxsprings up a staircase to a very modest apartment. He has just ended his 3rd year and drove 440 miles from Memphis to Newport. Point is...Banzai should seek to be extern sites for optometry students. Being an extern site is the ultimate mentoring. Yet, I will learn as much teaching him as I hope he learns from me. I might just lug him on to Huntsville or Dallas if this is acceptable.

Tommy, I'm fairly new to Banzai so can't comment on your thoughts but do plan to be active. I enjoyed meeting you in Largo which was my first meeting.
